Services to Residents:

Complimentary Video Program – The Police Department will come to your home and video tape your house for purposes of insurance or historical documentation free of charge. This should be of assistance when filing insurance claims for loss due to damage or theft, and also with the recovery of stolen property.  We have purchased a digital video recorder with funds obtained through a crime prevention grant. At your request, we will schedule an officer to record images of the exterior and interior of your residence.  If you desire, we will record images of any of your personal property and valuables, such as antiques, artwork, china, silverware, and jewelry.  The images will be recorded to a mini-DVD which will be given to you upon completion of the session.  This will serve to document these items and the condition of your home should you need to file an insurance claim in the future. Contact the Police Department at 772-781-3378 to schedule an appointment.

Car Decals – The Police Department offers a “TSP” (Town of Sewall’s Point) decal should you wish to have your car recognized as a resident vehicle. This program aids in finding suspicious vehicles.

Vacant House Check – If you are leaving town, you are welcome to visit and register your home with the Police Department. They will do periodic drive-by’s and check that your doors are locked, if that is your desire.
