depicting the operations of the Fort Pierce Utility Authority highlighting their Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Present: Vice Mayor Frank Fender, Mayor Vinny Barile, Commissioner James W. Campo, Commissioner Dave Kurzman, Town Manager Pamela M. Walker (Not voting).
Absent: Town Attorney Glen Torcivia.

5:29 PM Motion: Add Commission Comments to the beginning of the agenda. , Action: Approve, Moved by Vice Mayor Frank Fender, Seconded by Commissioner James W. Campo.

5:31 PM Ceremonial Swearing in of Officer Sebastien Gonzalez
Chief Ciechanowski administered the Oath of Office to Officer Sebastian Gonzalez.

5:35 PM Commission Comments
Vice Mayor Fender presented an Environmental reminders to the town residents. He noted that Martin County recently adopted ban on glyphosate.
Commissioner Campo suggested looking at the cost to contractors in the Town prohibiting use of glyphosate. He also said that Playground Committee was pleased to have assistance from Tom Lucido and Associates at no cost. He also asked for an update as to the state of water pipes infrastructure.
Vice Mayor Fender said he found an alternative to weed killer.

Glen Enriquas 1 Kingston Court came forward and expressed concern over a pothole on South Sewall’s Point, and an ongoing Code Enforcement issue at 129 S. Sewall’s Point Road. Kingston and River Road corner street.
Mona Leonard came forward and expressed concern over the enforcement and permitting in the Town. Commission Sponsor
1. Scheduled Tour of MCU’s Jensen Beach Wastewater Treatment Facility Kurzman
After a brief discussion the Commission agreed to tour the plant on a Friday. Commissioner Kurzman said he would set the tour up and notify the Town Clerk in order to properly advertise the tour.
2. Draft Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Commission
Town Manager Walker presented a draft 2020 proposed Budget to the Commission and public.
The Commission offered comments and recommendations to the Town Manager.
3. Debris Hauler Contract Bid Provisions Commission
Town Manager Walker gave a brief overview regarding the current Debri Hauling contracts. Town Engineer Joe Capra came forward and gave a brief overview as to the requirement of the Bid and Performance Bonds.
Town Manager Walker said that she would need to discuss the legal matter as to what the Town will accept from the contractors and their required Bonding.
Town Engineer Capra recommended having more than one contract in place.
The Commissioners gave direction to the Town Manager.
COMMISSIONERS OR STAFF COMMENTS
Commissioner Campo asked the state of the pipes underground on North Sewall’s Point Road.
Town Engineer came forward and explained the roadway projects, water lines and suggested certain budgeting.
